Happy Birthday Devin

Daxton and Tweety at Six Flags.

Birthday Crew with Tweety.

The whole crew with Porky. Notice the stuffed animals in picture. You know the lecture you give your kids about don't waste money on those "stupid" games it's like throwing your money away? Well, we can NEVER give our kids that lecture. I am not kidding you- they ALWAYS win. Devin did win one after this picture- he now has a penguine.

For Devin's birthday we took these two friends to Six Flags. What fun we had. There were no lines (well, one we waited 15 min.). Some of the rides they let us stay on- an example, we rode Judge Roy Scream three times in a row. So fun!!

Devin is so excited about being 9. We gave him a DS. He is feeling so big as his brother has a DS.

Ellisyn loves her big bro too. She has realized that she can always win if you get Devin something Lego.

Daxton's a winner too as he gave him more Gameboy games.

Devin did a good job making his own cake. Happy Birthday Devin!

Friends and July 4th

I know I have already wrote about the 4th but I have to include these pictures. We had so much fun at the mall. We didn't know of anyone that was going but when we arrived we ran into so many friends. We saw the Duke's, McGraw's, Richardson's, and Kavalich's. Our kids love taking pictures with characters or anyone in uniform. Daxton opted not but he's a teen right. Didn't take the time to fix the officer's picture- sorry officer Fred.

Family Fun

Our family is loving our new place. The pools are great. Recently we had fun playing water volleyball. We were the only ones there so it was like our own swimming pool. Also, we had a great time honoring Scott as a Dad. I love him and our children do too.

College Friends

Sherri, Cami, Linda, and Me.
One of the nicest things about living int he Metroplex is that we get to see so many friends from college. I caught up with two very close friends and loved it.

This is Ellisyn and Cami. Ellisyn is the same age at Betsi, Cami's sister, who is now with the Lord in heaven. Cami is Devin's age but the girls had fun.

Me, Linda, and Sherri are having fun catching up on lives. We all lived in the same dorm. I can't wait to get together again soon.

Happy Fourth of July

Happy Fourth of July. Besides the Christian holidays our country barely observes, July 4th is my most favorite. Last year was a bummer as we didn't do that much. This year made up for it. The five of us spent literally the whole day together and had so much fun. We started the day off with a parade in our mall for children. Devin pulled Ellisyn in a wagon even though he thought he might be getting too old for such things. Good sport.

I think Ellisyn is catching on to my favorite holiday.

I love my family.

VBS

This was our first year to attend VBS at our new church. We had a blast. I didn't get to help as I taught some swim lessons. The theme was boot camp and my kids loved it everyday. We are already talking about next year. For about 5 years I have taken my kids leaders some special treat on the last day. This year was Kolaches and donuts. Devin's precious leaders.
Ellisyn's small group and leaders.

Dan the Man the Lego Man

If you have been around us for any length of time, you will know that we are HUGE Lego fans. So, when a Lego store was opening up just 10-15 minutes from our house of course we had to go. We got there early and were about 10th in line to build R2D2 with the master builder Dan. Up until this point my kids thought the only Master Builder was Mr. James. He's still high on the list but Dan is for sure in the picture.

Lego knew exactly how to open a new store. The kids had their directions and got to build sections of R2D2.

After they finished their pieces, they gave it to Master Builder Dan and he used the pieces for the master piece.

After meeting Dan and having lunch with him we went to the store and found Indiana Jones made entirely out of Legos. The skull was amazing. Come see us and we'll take you to the Lego Store.
